They give you a full grounding in the essentials of corsetry but in addition to this they use an alternative method of assembly that is charming in its end results and that gives a captivating glance into the mysteries of the craft. Nothing could be better to let you decide whether or not corset making is for you, and for seasoned makers, a fine way to refresh the way you view a corsets structure. Ribbon corsets are quick (in as much as any corset can be) punchy and effective, offering a great prospect for creators of all abilities. That’s the finest thing about corsetry, you will never be done unlocking its mysteries.

A little about our courses

Our corsetry courses have been running for years, bringing together passionate, creative people from all walks of life for every imaginable reason.  The groups of up to 4 students are given a relaxed, inviting environment in which to learn, set in the rooftops of medieval Shrewsbury where they take on an entirely new set of skills. Each leaves with an object that is less a garment, and more a piece of wearable art, personal to them in every way, precise in fit, finish and cut.
The best thing about it is that you don’t have to be an expert seamstress to join us on a corset course. We demystify the process for you, taking a step by step approach to the corsets creation to make each bitesize process into a more manageable whole. If you can use a sewing machine, and can sew a straight line, we can show you how to polish your skills and take them to an entirely new level.
We also take on a limited number of one on one courses for those who feel they are ready to take on a greater challenge, or who want to try something completely fresh. We can cover such varied topics as corded corsets, historical pattern grading, cupped corsets, alternative boning techniques or indeed, anything you can imagine.
