Come and learn the sometimes challenging but always fascinating techniques that are totally unique to corsetry construction in this comprehensive approach to the art.
You will be guided along with an intimate group through everything you need to know, from busk insertion and eyelet setting to custom sizing and creating perfect boning channels. Under the watchful eye of a professional corsetiere, whose work is being eagerly sought worldwide, you can create your very own steel boned under bust corset, fitted to your precise measurements, made in fabrics that you won’t be able to stop admiring, and with a quality finish that no-one will quite be able to believe that you achieved singlehandedly. This is the way to learn all the tips and tricks that make a good corset into a lifelong treasure.

About our courses
Our corsetry courses have been running for years, bringing together passionate, creative people from all walks of life for every imaginable reason. The groups of up to 4 students are given a relaxed, inviting environment in which to learn, set in the rooftops of medieval Shrewsbury where they take on an entirely new set of skills. Each leaves with an object that is less a garment, and more a piece of wearable art, personal to them in every way, precise in fit, finish and cut.
The best thing about it is that you don’t have to be an expert seamstress to take on this project. We demystify the process for you, taking a step by step approach to the corsets creation to make each bitesize process into a more manageable whole. If you can use a sewing machine, and can sew a straight line, we can show you how to polish your skills and take them to an entirely new level.
We also take on a limited number of one on one corsetry courses for those who feel they are ready to take on a greater challenge, or who want to try something completely fresh. We can cover such varied topics as corded corsets, historical pattern grading, cupped corsets, alternative boning techniques or indeed, anything you can imagine. If this is of interest to you please get in touch with us to discuss your ideas.
